The classics and the covers, the sillies and the spookies, all on rotation this week.
As far as holiday music goes, Halloween is a standout favorite, second only to Christmas music in the eyes of most. While some are already anticipating hearing Mariah Carey’s echoes in the weeks leading up to the winter holidays, I find myself having a whole lot of fun with spirited songs for the spooky season. Over the years, my Halloween playlist has grown to include a broad collection of tracks, and I’ve compiled 30 of my favorites for this year — from the playful nostalgia of “The Purple People Eater” and the eerie vibes of “Somebody’s Watching Me,” to more contemporary gems like “Seven Devils” and “Twin Skeletons,” these songs have become the soundtrack to my October celebrations. As the leaves change color and the nights grow darker, here’s the list of tracks that have been spinning on repeat, setting the perfect mood for all things Halloween throughout the month.
