Spring Concert Success // Updated Charts
Thanks to everybody who made Spring Concert a complete success on the 20th! It couldn't have been done without you. WQAQ's General Manager Eric Berman issued his statement of appreciation:
"I just want to thank everyone who came out on Saturday to help with the concert. It was a great night full of great music and wouldn't have been possible without the help and support of everyone who came and helped."
New music charts have been posted as well, so take a look at all the great new indie stuff that's charting!

Battle of the Bands Success // New General Manager
Thanks to everyone who came out last week to Battle of the Bands. It wouldn't have been a success without you! As I'm sure you've already heard, the winning band Myopia (a power metal band from New Haven) will be opening for Murder By Death at WQAQ's upcoming Spring Concert on Saturday, March 20th. You can now order tickets here!!
Also, congratulations to Mike Farrell on being selected as the new GM of WQAQ for 2010-2011! Trust me, he's a music man who can call the shots like a pro. So if you see him, congratulate him on this enormous achievement!

WQAQ is Back on the Air \\ Battle of the Bands is almost here
Radio shows are now back on the air and streaming live 24/7! Check out the updated Spring '10 schedule to find out who's on when.
Secondly, WQAQ's Battle of the Bands is fast approaching. If you love music, there's no reason not to go! If you are in a band wants to participate, be sure to pick up applications in the station or at WQAQ's promo table in the student center. Turn them in no later than Monday, February 8th and you're pretty much guaranteed a spot. Just remember: All songs must be original compositions (no covers!), and at least one of the band members must be a Quinnipiac student.

Back on the Air Feb. 1st \\ Spring 2010 Show Applications available now
Hope everyone had a fantastic new year! Starting in February, WQAQ 98.1FM will begin broadcasting once again. Broadcasting what, you might ask? Well, broadcasting dead air of course. That is... unless we get some radio shows to make things interesting. And that's where YOU come in.
Stop by the WQAQ office (on the second floor of the Student Center) to pick up your Show Application. Can't get down to the station? Not a problem - download the form here, and print.
Just be sure to hand it in to us no later than Friday, January 29th, or you can't get a show!
If you also need a Staff Application (to be filled out once per year), you can get that here.

New Wallpaper and Updated Charts!
A new WQAQ Desktop wallpaper has been posted today on the Downloads page. It's got a clean, modern look, so be sure to check it out! Also, music charts have been updated, with The Avett Brothers currently holding the number one spot.

Charts, Sweatshirt Design Contest Results, and MUSIC FOR MEALS!
What's up, peoples? Updated music charts have been posted this week. Check 'em out!
If you haven't already heard from WQAQ's Facebook announcement, Justin Masse is the winner of our Sweatshirt Design Contest! Below is the winning design:
Pretty nice, isn't it? Well if you plan on getting one of these sexy thangs, YOU MUST FILL OUT YOUR NAME AND SWEATSHIRT SIZE on the door of the station BY MONDAY NOVEMBER 16TH at 4 PM. Orders will be placed on Monday, so if you don't fill out your name and size by this time, you won't get a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt price is between $25 and $30 (details on this to come after 4 PM on Monday).
Please turn in money for sweatshirts by the Friday before Thanksgiving break. Cash or check are both acceptable. Sweatshirts should be arriving before finals week.
Lastly, if you haven't already heard from WQAQ's tweets, our next big event is MUSIC FOR MEALS ft. Bottle Up and Go @ The Space! It's only $5 at the door, or FREE entry if you bring 2 canned goods. Be there!!

New Features
Hey everyone! Some great new features have come with the website remodeling. One of them being the new integrated web player at the bottom of the site, which can now be opened/closed at will. Just use the button located near the bottom right of the player!
Also, the Fall 2009 Show Schedule has been posted, and should hopefully be easier to use than ever. The WQAQ Events Calendar is also alive and kickin', with a whole boatload of events going on in October, so check that out.
Upcoming: Ticket giveaways will be up within a matter of days on the Win page, so stay tuned for that! You know you want to win something!

Spring Concert was a HUGE Success!
WQAQ would like to extend a SPECIAL THANKS to those who attended the 2009 Spring Concert on Friday. Without great attendance, the concert would be nothing.

WQAQ is Back for the Spring Semester!
Welcome back everyone to another exciting semester at WQAQ! A few important things to catch up on:
The Spring 2009 Show Schedule is online, so have a look.
Battle of the Bands 2009 will take place on February 21st in Alumni Hall. If your band wishes to participate, the deadline date for submitting promo CDs is Friday, February the 13th. In the coming days, WQAQ.com will be streaming song clips from each accepted band.
We also encourage everyone to participate in our new online discussion forums. Talk about the station, music, sports, or whatever else is on your mind. If you're a new member, simply click the "login" link at the bottom of the discussion board, and register for a new account.
Lastly, a new website design is in progress, but due to time constraints we are using this one for the time being.

Schedule is Fully Online, New Audio Download of Scott Brosius Interview
A few new things this week - In case you haven't noticed lately, the Online Schedule is up and running! We are now in the process of putting up DJ names and appropriate genres for each show.
Secondly, DJ of the Week has been updated to reflect this week's top talent.
Finally, we have archived an exclusive interview with the Yankees' Scott Brosius, which aired on Friday's broadcast of Views from the Nosebleeds. Check out that half hour-long interview here!

WQAQ is back and broadcasting for the Fall Semester! Show schedules on the site will be posted soon, but until then, check the station door (SC 225) for the current lineup.

Going Back on Air Soon...
WQAQ, the 2008 QU Organization of the Year, will be back on air September 22nd. There will be new and exciting shows and events such as Music For Meals, a charity concert event taking place on November 14th. Tune into 98.1 or use the web stream to listen 24 hours a day!
